What is Spokane Week Without Driving?
Spokane Week Without Driving invites Spokanites to – you guessed it! – not drive for some or all of the week of October 1–8. Week Without Driving was started by Disability Rights Washington to draw attention to the challenges that people encounter when they cannot drive. Week Without Driving prompts everyone to ask: how can we make more accessible communities for everyone?

How can you participate?
Some time between October 1–8, opt out of using your car like you normally would. You might learn some really cool things, like the new views of town from the bus window, or that you enjoy the walk to work in the morning. You might also learn some frustrating things. Reflect on this experience and write about it to your representative so that we can continue to make positive change here in Spokane. (You can also share your experience with us! We’d love to hear about it!)
